Smells like team spirit is a film resource that has been created to provide a lively, enjoyable and humorous look at how active citizenship and collective effort can have a positive influence on society. The short extracts of film explore two things at the heart of trade union philosophy: team spirit and fairness. They can lead to a more in depth discussion about the role of unions and help illustrate how modern media can be harnessed to bring about social change.

The films and accompanying notes can be used as a resource for young union speakers visiting schools and for teachers wishing to use the resource in PSHCE lessons. They can also be used by anyone wishing to explain the role of trade unions to young people in society today.

We were delighted to work with teacher Corinne Finnan,  who wrote the teaching resources and to the Television Studio in Nottingham whose young actors ( Marcus, Sarah, Lauren and Ben ) provided the voice-overs for our young characters in Smells Like Team Spirit.
